Queens University, Belfast. Meritcom Limited have installed, terminated and tested Cat 5e and Cat 6 data installations, installed fibre optic cables and multi-pair tie cables for Queens University including major contracts such as the New Physics Research Building, Sonic Arts and Computer Sciences Building and the Elms Halls of Residence. The works all require close liaison with QUB IT Services, Telecommunications Services and Estate Services to ensure a high standard of quality of installation is achieved University of Ulster Meritcom are on the new approved list of specialist IT contractors for the University of Ulster to provide Cat 6, Fibre Optic and Multipair installations throughout the Jordanstown, Coleraine, and Magee Campuses. Gerald Moag Campus, Millfield Belfast Meritcom have installed Structured cabling infrastructure at the Gerald Moag Campus which included the installation of over 2000No. Category 6 Outlets and a Fibre Optic Backbone. This is one of the largest PFI projects in N.Ireland and Meritcom worked closely with the Design Team to provide high quality, cost effective IT networking solution for this state-of-the art Further Educational facility. FAS, Letterkenny Meritcom have provided extensive upgrade to the existing network at the FAS Campus in Letterkenny, which has included the installation of Cat5e and Cat6 cables, fibre optic and multipair cables, and the upgrade of existing hubs and switches. Dundalk IT Meritcom have provided Cat5e and fibre installations at Dundalk IT Coleraine LRC Meritcom have provided Cat5e Outlets and a Cat6 and Fibre Optic (50/125um) installation at the Coleraine LRC building which involved the relocation of the main Server Equipment to a new dedicated Comms Room. Limavady Technical College Meritcom are currently working on the site for the new Limavady Technical College Campus which includes an extensive Cat6 and 50/125um fibre optic infrastructure. Meritcom provided assistance with the specification and design of the voice and data network prior to being awarded the contract. Thornhill College. Derry. Over 1000 No. Cat5e Outlets as well as a fibre optic backbone have been installed at the new Thornhill College. Meritcom were introduced at an early stage of the development and liased closely with the consultant to ensure that a high quality, cost effective Cat5e solution was provided. Classroom 2000 Project for South Eastern Education & Library Board. Meritcom were appointed specialist contractors for the C2k installations at over 50No. Primary Schools throughout the SEELB region. The project involved close liaison with the SEELB, the Consultants, JCP, and with each individual school to provide a programme suitable to all parties. Progress reports were produced on a weekly basis and full O&M documentation including test results and warranties were produced for each school on completion of the contract. Classroom 2000 Project for Western Education & Library Board. Meritcom were appointed specialist contractors for the C2k installations at over 20No. Primary Schools throughout the WELB region. The project involved close liaison with the WELB, the Consultants, Cogan & Shackleton, and with each individual school to provide a programme suitable to all parties. Progress reports were produced on a weekly basis and full O&M documentation including test results and warranties were produced for each school on completion of the contract. Christ the Redeemer Primary School. Belfast. Over 250No. cat5e Outlets as well as a fibre optic backbone have been installed within the Christ the Redeemer Primary School. St Brigids High School, Derry. Over 800No. Cat5e Outlets as well as a fibre optic backbone have been installed within St Brigids High School. A complex contract, which involved integrating the new network infrastructure and phasing out the existing network over the contract period. Rathmore Grammar, Belfast Over 1000No. Cat5e Outlets as well as an extensive fibre optic backbone have been installed within St Brigids High School. The new network has been installed and integrated to the existing network with no disruptions to the existing network. Clifden Special School, Belfast Over 250No. Cat5e Outlets and a fibre backbone have been installed at the above school. Classroom 2000 Projects The Classroom 2000 project, or C2k, is a project issued by the Department of Education in Northern Ireland and handled by the Western Educational Library Board. The project was developed to provide a level of service and to improve the existing technology and improve learning and teaching. Every child from five years of age, right through to leaving school for higher education will have an e-mail address and password. There will be 380,000 users. As part of the Classroom 2000 strategy each primary and secondary school in Northern Ireland has been provided with a Cat5e and fibre optic infrastructure. Meritcom have been involved in the installation of this infrastructure within schools throughout N.Ireland.
